Accurate alignment is essential for safety critical systems. The Bosch DAS 3000 rig and alignment systems ensure all systems are correctly aligned and working in fusion.
Safety Critical Systems
Your Active Cruise Control (ACC) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) monitor the distance between you and the vehicle in front, maintaining your "safe distance," a misaligned system could mean the unit is looking in the completely wrong lane on a motorway for example, not seeing the vehicle in front until its too late and losing you those vital seconds of reaction time. Sophisticated and calibrated windscreen cameras, scan the road head using Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) to warn you off speed limits, pedestrians, obstacles in your path and keeping you in lane.
Do I really need all these fancy systems?
The safety advantage of these systems is without doubt, which is why all new cars must have at least some system fitted as standard, they are proven to save lives and reduce collisions. Where multiple systems are fitted they will all work together monitoring your surroundings and warning of imminent danger, and on some systems they can apply the brakes where a collision is predicted, reducing impact speeds and injury, but to do so effectively they must be carefully calibrated and aligned which is where we come in. Some car repairs will affect your systems operation and the manufacturer approved repair process requires a calibration after such work, if you are unsure ask us, advice will be freely given.
